About Gemix

Gemix is a video slot designed by Play'n GO, featuring a unique cascading grid format. The game is played across a 7x7 grid, with symbols falling to create opportunities for clusters and additional prizes. There are 20 paylines. Players can place bets ranging from a minimum of £0.10 to a maximum of £5.00 per round.

How to Play

Wins in Gemix are achieved by forming clusters of five or more matching symbols that are connected either horizontally or vertically. When a winning cluster is formed, those symbols are removed from the grid, and new ones drop in to fill the empty spaces, potentially creating further wins within the same round. This cascading action continues until no new winning clusters can appear.

The game uses dedicated bet buttons at the bottom of the screen, allowing players to select their preferred bet size. Bets may be adjusted by using the plus and minus controls. A round begins when the START button is pressed. The displayed symbols at the end of each cascade determine prizes, as outlined in the in-game paytable.

Crystal Charge Features

Each win adds progress to a crystal charge meter displayed on the screen. Once this meter is fully charged and there are no more cascades left in the round, one of the following Crystal Charge effects is activated:

  • Chain Lightning: Two corner symbols send an arc of electricity across the grid, transforming hit symbols into one of the corner symbols.
  • Light Beam: A selected symbol emits beams vertically and horizontally, changing all symbols in its row and column into other symbols.
  • Crystal Warp: One symbol is chosen at random; it and all matching symbols on the grid are transformed into other symbols.
  • Nova Blast: A random symbol explodes, removing itself and all surrounding symbols. This explosion retracts and leaves a core cluster comprised solely of that symbol.

The round resumes after the Crystal Charge effect, offering chances for the meter to fill again through additional wins during the same play.

Super Charge Feature

When the crystal charge meter is filled for a second time within the same round by achieving wins on additional symbols, the game activates the Super Charge feature. This multiplies all already awarded and subsequent wins by three for the remainder of that round. The Super Charge can only occur once per round and only after the first Crystal Charge effect has been activated.

Worlds and Patterns

Gemix is structured around different game worlds. Each world is associated with three unique grid patterns. The current pattern is displayed on the screen, and winning on the highlighted grid positions will clear that pattern. Clearing all three patterns in a world advances the game to the next world and awards a World Bonus, which increases with every win during that game round.

Wild Symbols and Special World Effects

Each world in Gemix introduces its own wild symbol, each with specific behaviour:

  • Miner’s World: Up to ten wild symbols can randomly fall from the top, replacing regular symbols on the grid.
  • Princess’ World: An edge symbol is converted into a wild symbol, which then spreads outward to adjacent positions until reaching another edge symbol.
  • Wizard’s World: As many as eight sticky wilds can appear anywhere on the grid. These sticky wilds do not drop down when symbols beneath them are removed and remain on the grid until either the round ends or the Crystal Charge effect occurs.

Wild symbols substitute for any other symbol to assist in forming winning clusters. When a wild is part of a winning cluster, it is removed (except for sticky wilds in Wizard’s World, which persist as described above).

Game Functions

  • Changing Your Bet: Select your desired bet amount using the plus and minus buttons, or by clicking directly on one of the five preset bet options.
  • Paytable: Toggle the paytable to view symbol values and winning combinations.
  • Start: Use this button to begin a new round with your chosen bet size.

Unfinished Game Rounds

  • If a round is interrupted, your current game state and bets are saved and may be resumed at any time by reopening the game.
  • Any unresolved bets from incomplete rounds will become void if not resolved within 90 days, after which the value is donated to charity. Any malfunction during play voids all pays and plays.
